Do It Tired.

Hello!! It has simply been far too long with far too little excuses to not be posting here. I want to prioritize pushing myself and my career this year, so here I am!!

So far this year, I have taken three separate trips for auditions (including this weekend), and my wallet is begging for a sweet release, . Thankfully, I have friends in many cities and they have been graceful enough to let me crash on their couches and spare bedrooms, and I’ve been feeling so welcome throughout my travels, so at least there’s that. :)
I started off this year with a one-day trip into NYC for a Royal Caribbean audition. Fly overnight, transit straight to the audition, sing my face off, then go
back to the airport that afternoon to catch a flight back home, all done in exactly 24 hours… I wish I was joking.

My next trip was thankfully longer, to Orlando for a face character audition at Disney World. I flew in overnight (again), but this time had the morning to get ready at the airport, grab breakfast, and do a little bit of audition prep beforehand, then took a Lyft to the audition studios where I did about an hour and a half of a dance call. And speaking of friends… I had the best fortune to meet two very sweet girls, Alexa and Olivia! (They will pop back up in a bit :) ) We got to chatting at the audition, and spent the rest of the afternoon together at Disney Springs commiserating about this life and the chaos of it all. I am really lucky to find people to talk about this with; it can be so isolating sometimes, especially living not only outside of the city, but across the country.
Now, this week, I have been back in New York City for MORE auditions!! I flew in Thursday morning (I’m so tired of sleeping on planes 😭) for ANOTHER Disney audition with Alexa and Olivia! (See, I told you they’d pop back up!) After that was finished, Alexa and I went across the street to audition for Celebrity Cruise Line, which was SUCH a fun time for me. It’s been about 9 months since I last was on the water, and to say that I miss it is a gross understatement. At this point, there is very little I wouldn’t do for another contract. You can use your imagination. Thankfully, this audition went VERY well, which was enough to quench my thirst… for now. :)
Which brings us to today! I started my morning by going to yet another Disney audition; they recommend going to as many as humanly possible, and I am taking their advice literally. I’ve said for a while that I would sell my soul to the mouse in an instant, so why not all of my money to get there! My soul should pay the difference eventually. With the rest of my day, I get to spend the evening with my uncle and cousin whom I have not seen for I believe over two years now? Wow. As I’m writing this, they are minutes away from reaching me, so I should really wrap this up. My motto this year is “Do It Tired”. Do everything. Do it all. Do it even when you really wouldn’t rather do anything but sleep. Do it tired, and do it anyways. So here’s to as much sleep as possible, even if it’s on a plane, lots of plans, and probably lots of coffee. I’ll check in soon.
